World News and Views :: Projects BASF-Sinopec JV Breaks Ground on SAP Plant at Nanjing3:19 AM MDT | May 24, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh BASF-YPC Co., a 50-50 petrochemical joint venture between BASF and Sinopec at Nanjing, China, has today broken ground on a previously announced superabsorbent polymers (SAP) plant. The 60,000-m.t./year SAP plant at Nanjing is expected to begin commercial production by early 2014. The jv also intends to build a previously announced 160,000-m.t./year acrylic acid facility, and a butyl acrylate plant, at the site.
