K 2013: Corbion Purac supplies Supla with PLA, showcases high-heat-resistance applications in electronics

Corbion Purac (formerly Purac; Gorinchem, Netherlands) announced during K 2013 that it will supply Supla's (Tainan City, Taiwan) with 10,000 m.t./year of polylactic acid (PLA) for Supla's polymerization plant. Supla has developed optimized PLA compounds for the consumer electronics industry based on Purac's lactides. The company announce earlier this year it would be delivering the product to Asia but had withheld its partner's name. The PLA is being supplied from Purac's Thailand production facility, which was commissioned in 2012 and has a production capacity...
