Groups Seek Court Order Forcing Release of EPA Ozone Rule

A coalition of advocacy groups has petitioned a U.S. appeals court to force EPA to release its final rule revising the National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) for ozone. The petition argues that EPA’s repeated missed deadlines merit a court order forcing EPA to release the rule. The Earthjustice petition is the latest development in the recent battle between public health advocacy groups, EPA, and industry over the need for a tighter ozone standard. Industry and some lawmakers have argued a tighter standard would hurt the U.S. economy and send jobs...
