Europe Unveils Bioeconomy Strategy

The European Commission adopted a coherent, interdisciplinary action plan today for creating a sustainable bioeconomy in Europe that underscores the sector’s role in addressing global resource challenges and emphasizes the need for more funding and supportive government policies.  The plan, dubbed "Innovating for Sustainable Growth: a Bioeconomy for Europe," includes increased investment, market development, and stronger policy coordination as its three pillars.
