DSM Adds Adipic Acid to Biobased Chemical Efforts

DSM announced this week that it is adding adipic acid, a precursor to nylon 6,6 , polyurethanes, solvents and resins, to its list of target biobased chemicals. Adipic acid is an attractive target because it is a “drop-in” chemical with a market growing 3% or more a year and worth $5 billion annually, James Iademarco, v.p,/biobased chemicals, tells CW.
