Cabot to invest $85 million in emission control technology

Cabot announced today that it will pay a civil fine and add emission control technology to three of its US carbon black manufacturing sites as part of an agreement with EPA over alleged violations of the Clean Air Act (CAA) Under the terms of a consent decree deal, Cabot will invest $85 million over the next six and a half years to install advanced control technology and continuous emission monitoring systems at its carbon black plants at Franklin and Ville Platte, LA, and Pampa, TX.
