EnviroTech :: Sustainability Amyris Inks Squalene Supply Deal2:16 PM MDT | August 19, 2011 | Vincent Valk Amyris has signed an agreement to supply several hundred tons of renewable squalene to Nikko Chemicals. Squaline is a moisturizing ingredient used in cosmetics and Amyris makes it from sugarcane-based Biofene. The deal will supply the Japanese market only. "We are thrilled to expand our sales volumes of renewably-sourced squalane and provide additional customers with a reliable supply of this best-in-class emollient," says John Melo, CEO of Amyris.
