Amvac invests in biopesticide firm TyraTech

American Vanguard Corp. (Amvac) says it has acquired a 29.46% stake in biopesticide firm TyraTech (Morrisville, NC), for $3.7 million. Amvac says the investment expands its involvement in the development of products derived from natural sources and in the use of such technologies in nonagricultural market segments. TyraTech has developed more than a dozen unique products that show efficacy as mosquito, fly, flea, and tick repellents; head-lice control treatments; and intestinal parasitic control agents.
