U.S. EPA to Release Dioxin Reassessment in Early 2012

EPA says it will divide its long-awaited final dioxin reassessment into two parts and release the noncancer portion of the analysis by the end of January 2012. The cancer portion of the assessment will follow “as quickly as possible.” The agency’s decision to split the assessment into two sections follows SAB's release of its latest review of EPA's methodology. SAB says it generally endorses EPA's latest draft, but a dissenting member disagrees with the agency's carcinogenicity determination....
