U.S. EPA Seeks Comment on Requiring BPA Toxicity Testing

U.S. EPA has issued an advanced notice of proposed rulemaking (ANPR) seeking comment on potentially requiring toxicity testing for bisphenol A (BPA). The agency is considering requiring testing organisms including amphibians at sensitive life stages, birds over multiple generations, and aquatic invertebrate species. It is also considering environmental testing in areas near significant points of release including manufacturing facilities.
