Senate Panel Questions Industry, EPA on Flame Retardant Safety

The Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) committee held a hearing today on the safety and effectiveness of flame retardants. Committee chair Barbara Boxer (D., CA) and other senators referenced the May Chicago Tribune series on flame retardant chemicals, which included references to an alleged industry campaign to misrepresent the effectiveness of certain flame retardants in order to enhance demand.
