New York Sues U.S. to Compel  Hydraulic Fracturing Review

New York state attorney general Eric Schneiderman says his office is preparing to file a lawsuit against the U.S. federal government for failure to conduct an environmental review of potential harmful effects of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking. The lawsuit targets regulations proposed by the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC; West Trenton, NJ) allowing natural gas development in the area. Schneiderman says the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requires environmental review of regulations that pose harm to human health or the environment....
