Health Minister Backs France's Proposed BPA Restrictions1:42 PM MDT | October 10, 2011 | Kara Sissell France’s Health Minister Xavier Bertrand says a recent report by the nation’s food safety agency Anses (Paris) has convinced him to support a proposal that would ban bipshenol A (BPA) in all food packaging, local reports say. The bill would also prohibit BPA’s use in all packaging intended for nursing mothers and children under three. The bill, if passed, would make France the first country to enact a nationwide ban on BPA in food contact materials.
