EPA Misses Deadline for Finalizing its Dioxin Assessment

EPA has missed its self-imposed January 31 deadline for issuing its assessment of dioxin’s potential noncancer health effects. Industry groups have argued the proposed reference dose, or recommended limit, for dioxin would make much of the nation’s food supply perceived to be unsafe for human consumption.
