EPA Dioxin Reassessment Slated for Release by January

EPA says it will divide its long-awaited final dioxin reassessment into two parts, and release the noncancer portion of the analysis by the end of January 2012. The cancer portion of the assessment will follow “as quickly as possible.” The agency’s decision to split the assessment into two sections follows the Science Advisory Board’s (SAB) August 26 release of its comments on EPA’s latest dioxin reassessment draft.
