ACC Asks FDA to Revise BPA Regulations

ACC is asking the U.S. FDA to amend federal regulations so it is clear that bisphenol A (BPA) may not be used in baby bottles and sippy cups. The FDA regulation at issue governs the use of polycarbonates in food contact materials and currently does not prohibit BPA in baby bottles or sippy cups. The decision to seek the amendment is an attempt by ACC to redirect the public dialogue on consumer product safety and BPA, one of the thorniest issues the industry has had to face related to public perception....
