Sinopec temporarily shuts three petchem units for violating environmental regulations

The Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP; Beijing) says that Sinopec has asked three of its subsidiaries in Guangdong province, China to temporarily suspend operations for violating environmental regulations.  The three subsidiaries in Guangdong - Sinopec Guangzhou Petrochemical (Guangzhou), Sinopec Zhanjiang Dongxing Petrochemical (Zhanjiang), and polystyrene producer New Sino-US Chemical (Zhanjiang) - have been ordered to take corrective actions.
