The soil, groundwater, and waste-disposal areas are contaminated with volatile organic compounds and other hazardous materials, including benzene, EPA says. The plan was first proposed in February, and Judith Enck, EPA regional administrator, says "The cleanup work at the American Cyanamid site will be accelerated by this final plan.
