Agbiotech firm BioConsortia raises $15 million in funding

BioConsortia (Davis, CA), an agricultural biotechnology company that discovers and develops microbial consortia for crop improvement, has raised $15 million in its Series B funding round. Khosla Ventures (Menlo Park, CA), an existing BioConsortia investor, and new investor Otter Capital (Palo Alto, CA) participated equally in the round, BioConsortia says. BioConsortia says the fund raising, along with the recent appointment of Marcus Meadows-Smith as CEO, will accelerate its plans to commercialize the use of microbial consortia as seed treatments and soil...
