Survey Tracks Uptick in U.S. Awareness of Fracking Controversy2:18 PM MST | January 3, 2011 | KARA SISSELL The majority of U.S. survey respondents say they are aware of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, and most of those that have heard of it have some concerns related to environmental issues associated with the technology, according to the Civil Society Institute, the Massachusetts think tank that conducted the survey. The survey shows 57% of people have at least some awareness of fracking.
