Orica’s Ammonium Nitrate Plant Shut Following Ammonia Leak

Orica (Melbourne) says that its ammonium nitrate plant at the company’s Kooragang Island site in New South Wales (NSW), Australia has been temporarily shut down since November 9, following the ammonia leak from the site. The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) of NSW issued a Prevention Notice to Orica and began an investigation into the incident last week.
