Nitric acid leak at Orica facility

Orica (Melbourne) says that a nitric acid leak occurred on 24 July at the company’s production site at Kooragang Island, New South Wales (NSW), Australia. The leak was fully contained by the site's spill protection system, and no one was injured, Orica says. The Kooragang Island facility continues to operate but one of the nitric acid plants at the site has been taken offline. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the leak, Orica says.
