New South Wales EPA Grants Orica Approval to Restart Ammonium Nitrate and Nitric Acid Plants; Ammonia Plant Remains Shut

Orica (Melbourne) says that the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) of New South Wales (NSW), Australia has today lifted certain Prevention Notices that were issued on Orica’s Kooragang Island site in NSW. The EPA issued the prevention notice to Orica following an ammonia leak from the site last month. Orica’s ammonium nitrate and nitric acid plants at the Kooragang Island site were shut down since November 9, following the ammonia leak.
