Lawmakers Advance U.S. Plant Security Bill2:20 PM MDT | May 9, 2011 | Vincent Valk The U.S. House Subcommittee on Environment and the Economy approved a bill extending the current Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards Act (CFATS) until October 2017. The proposed extension does not require consideration of Inherently Safer Technologies (IST), which was included in a CFATS reform bill advanced by the Democratic-controlled House last year.
