Chemical industry representatives are urging lawmakers to enact chemical plant security legislation that makes the current Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) law permanent, and to reject measures passed last year by the House that would mandate consideration of Inherently Safer Technologies (IST).
