House Lawmakers Introduce Bill to Extend CFATS

Representatives Peter King (R., NY) and Dan Lungren (R., CA) have sponsored a bill to extend for seven years the current Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards. The House bill's introduction comes on the heels of a similar measure proposed by Senator Susan Collins (R., ME) that would extend CFATS until October 2015. The bills would not require consideration of Inherently Safer Technologies (IST)....
