Amendments to biocidal products regulation enter into force

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) has announced that amendments to the the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR) have now come into force. The objective of the amendments is to provide further clarification to the regulation that entered into application on 1 September 2013, ECHA says. Key aspects of the revised BPR include the following points: a new definition of the concept of biocidal product families to include product variants with similar levels of risk and efficacy in the same family; clarification of a transitional period to allow new treated...
