ECHA calls for evidence on uses of phthalate in articles, preparation for restriction

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) and the Danish Environmental Protection Agency (DEPA; Copenhagen) have announced that they will jointly investigate the need for a restriction on the placing on the market of articles containing any of four phthalates. The restriction is part of the European Union’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals (Reach) regulation.
