CSB Considers Potential 'Inherently Safer' Alternatives for Hydrofluoric Acid

The Chemical Hazard and Safety Investigation Board (CSB; Washington) is seeking public comment on the design of a National Academy of Sciences (NAS) study on safety concerns about the use of methyl isocyanate (MIC) in the manufacturing of certain pesticides, including the feasibility of implementing alternative chemicals or processes.
