Amvac Looking to Expand Biopesticide Portfolio

American Vanguard (Amvac; Newport Beach, CA) says it has licensed the rights to develop crop protection products based on two Summerdale Inc.’s (Verona, WI) patents covering biopesticide candidates. Under the terms of the deal, Amvac can develop products for re-harvest and post-harvest commercial crop protection uses as fungicides, sanitizers, desiccants and/or harvest aids. One candidate has been in development for three years and shows “good potential” as a broad-spectrum biofungicide, Amvac says. The other is being tested as a crop dessicant...
