West Virginia Tax Changes Offer Incentives for Petchem Production

Lawmakers in West Virginia have passed a law providing 25 years of property tax incentives for companies interested in building a petrochemical cracker based on natural gas from the Marcellus Shale. Governor Earl Ray Tomblin is expected to sign the bill. West Virginia is competing with Ohio and Pennsylvania to become the site for a cracker planned by Shell Chemical.
