Legal Settlement Sets Dozens of U.S. Clean Air Deadlines

EPA and the Sierra Club have reached an agreement aimed at setting deadlines regarding hazardous air pollutant control technology regulations for 28 sectors. The consent decree, which settles a lawsuit brought by the Sierra Club, would establish revised maximum achievable control technology (MACT) standards for sectors including polymers and resins, polycarbonate, phosphate fertilizers, and marine loading operations (table).
