Industry, Union Pacific Settle Suit Over Shipment Liabilities

ACC says the lawsuit filed against Union Pacific over liability provisions in the railroad’s rate card has been settled. ACC and The Chlorine Institute had filed a lawsuit against Union Pacific challenging the railroad’s rate card provision that requires shippers to solely bear liability for a chlorine spill, even if the accident was the carrier’s fault.
