EnviroTech :: Regulatory :: Regulatory: Legal Gevo Denies DuPont Claims of Patent Infringement9:50 AM MDT | March 25, 2011 | Rebecca Coons Isobutanol producer Gevo (Englewood, CO) says it will denies claims by Butamax Advanced Biofuel (Wilmington, DE) that it infringed on Butamax patents relating to the production of isobutanol. Butamax, a joint venture formed between DuPont and BP in 2009 to develop a biobutanol process, filed a patent infringement suit against Gevo in January, alleging Gevo infringes on its patents by using recombinant microbial host cells that convert biomass-derived sugar into isobutanol.
