EPA Loses Round in Legal Battle Over Boiler MACT Rules

U.S. District Court judge Paul Friedman has denied a legal motion by EPA that would have prevented environmental groups from challenging the agency’s request to halt proposed changes to its Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) standard for industrial boilers. The ruling denies a motion by EPA challenging the district court’s jurisdiction in the case.
