Counterfeit Medicines Market in Europe Worth €10.5 Billion

A research commissioned by Pfizer estimates that the counterfeit medicines market in Europe to be worth more than €10.5 billion/year ($14.3 billion/year). The ‘Cracking Counterfeit Europe’ research across 14 European countries reveals a massive black market economy generated by counterfeit medicines. The research shows 21% of the 14,000 people surveyed admitted to buying prescription only medicines from illicit sources.
