Butamax Files Additional Infringement Claim Against Gevo

Butamax Advanced Biofuels (Wilmington, DE) says it has filed a second patent infringement lawsuit against Gevo (Englewood, CO), the latest development in a patent fray over biobased butanol production technology. The latest suit alleges Gevo is infringing Butamax’s patent 8,129,162 (‘162), which covers recombinant KARI enzymes that optimize biobutanol production by Butamax’s proprietary enzymes.
