ACC Petition Seeks Changes to EPAâ€™s PSD Regulations

ACC has filed a petition with U.S. EPA seeking a revision of regulations mandating prevention of significant deterioration (PSD) permits for facilities in certain regions. The industry petition argues that only certain pollutants should trigger PSD requirements, and that EPAâ€™s interpretation of PSD is â€śinappropriately expansive.â€ť ACC argues that PSD review should be triggered only by pollutants designated as â€ścriteria pollutants,â€ť which are carbon monoxide, lead, nitrogen dioxide, ozone, sulfur dioxide, and two kinds of particulate matter.
