U.K. Announces Auction for 12 Million EU Emissions Trading Permits

The U.K. The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has scheduled an auction between May and July of this year for the purchase of carbon emissions permits for the Europen Union (EU) Emissions Trading System (ETS). DECC was appointed by the UK government to conduct the auction. The U.K. government intends to auction 12 million allowances between May and July 2012, DECC says.
