Obama nominates McCarthy to head EPA

President Obama this morning formally nominated Gina McCarthy as the next EPA chief. McCarthy, EPA’s assistant administrator for the Office of Air and Radiation, had been considered the leading candidate for the position since EPA administrator Lisa Jackson stepped down earlier this year.  Prior to her most recent post at the EPA, McCarthy worked as Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).  McCarthy came to the Connecticut DEP from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where she worked on environmental issues at...
