More ambitious climate change goals to be set at UN conference

The European Union plans to announce its contribution to more ambitious climate action to 2020 during a UN conference on climate change, taking place 4–15 June at Bonn, Germany. The conference will include ministerial discussions on 5 and 6 June. The ministerial-level discussions will focus on how to raise developed countries' ambition for climate action during the second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol (2013–20), the future global climate agreement, and how to raise the ambition of pre-2020 action by all countries.
