Leading U.N. Climate Official Heads to KPMG

Yvo de Boer has announced his resignation as executive secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC; Bonn, Germany), effective July 1. De Boer is leaving UNFCCC to become global advisor on climate and sustainability at consulting firm KPMG, and he will work with a number of universities. De Boer is the United Nations’ (UN) top climate change official. He oversaw four years of UN climate talks culminating in the Copenhagen summit last December.
