Lawmaker Plans Alternate Climate Bill

Senator John Kerry (D., Mass.) says he is on track to introduce new climate legislation this year. Kerry is working with two other senators on a climate bill that includes a price on carbon. The group met with Obama administration officials early last week and is moving quickly to draft a bill, Kerry says. Meanwhile, U.S. EPA discussed a timeline for regulating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions under the Clean Air Act in a letter to senators who had expressed concern about high costs that could result from EPA’s GHG regulations.
