Industry Has Mixed Response to Latest U.S. Climate Bill

Senators John Kerry (D., MA) and Joseph Lieberman (I., CT) have climate introduced legislation, the latest attempt by U.S. lawmakers to establish a mandatory program for curbing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The bill, called the American Power Act, would establish a cap-and-trade system for GHG emissions that targets energy intensive sectors, including power generation, heavy industry, and transportation.
