European Commission asks companies to apply for HFC quotas by 1 July

The European Commission has published formal notification today that companies wishing to market hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) in the European Union in 2015 must register and submit an application for 2015 HFC quotas. The commission says that this step is the first in reducing the use of HFCs—which are powerful greenhouse gases—in the European Union, the main measure introduced by the new F-gas regulation.
