Chinese President Urges China to Step Up Efforts to Cut Emissions

Chinese president Hu Jintao says China should step up efforts to tackle climate change and to ensure the country’s target to cut carbon dioxide emissions by 2020 is reached. China announced last November that it plans to cut its carbon emission intensity by 40%-45% by 2020, compared with 2005 levels.
