WTO rejects China's appeal of ruling against rare earth export restrictions

The World Trade Organization (WTO; Geneva) has rejected an appeal by China against a WTO ruling earlier this year that China's export restrictions on the key industrial raw materials rare earths, molybdenum, and tungsten violate trade rules. WTO's appellate body confirmed the findings of a WTO dispute settlement panel that ruled last March against China's export duties and quotas.
