U.S. Federal Court Clears Dow's Union Carbide Unit of Liability Associated with Bhopal

A federal court in New York has cleared Dow Chemical's Union Carbide subsidiary of liability related to any environmental remediation or pollution-related claims related to the December 1984 disaster in Bhopal, India. The site was owned and operated by Carbide's India-based subsidiary, Union Carbide India Limited. Dow subsequently acquired Carbide in 2001.
