EnviroTech :: Regulatory Trade Commission Probes Syngenta12:54 PM MDT | March 10, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC; Washington) says it has voted to pursue a patent-infringement investigation based on complaints filed by Sumitomo Chemical against Syngenta for the insecticide clothianidin. The complaints allege that Syngenta and its subsidiaries violated Sumitomo’s patent for clothianidin. They have asked that ITC issue an exclusion order to prevent the “infringing” materials from entering the U.S., as well as a cease-and-desist order, which would require Syngenta to stop selling the materials under investigation...
