Sherwin-Williams, NL Industries ordered to pay $1.1 billion in lead paint case

Sherwin-Williams (SW), NL Industries and ConAgra foods were found liable to pay $1.1 billion to replace or mitigate lead paint in thousands of homes in California in a court ruling handed down yesterday. The ruling, by Superior Court Judge James Kleinberg of San Jose, CA, orders the companies to pay the local governments of San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles County to compensate for health damages related to lead paint.
